Building a Future Together This Youth HOPE Month!

November is Youth HOPE Month, a national movement dedicated to building awareness around youth HOMELESSNESS. Huckleberry House is joining the National Runaway Safeline again this year to lay the groundwork for a brighter future for young people.

We invite you to partner with us this Youth HOPE month! With themes of HOMELESSNESS, OUTREACH, PREVENTION, and EDUCATION, we are offering four options to join the movement at home, or in the office!

  1. Organize a donation drive to make hygiene bags filled with the most requested items
    • Our Youth Outreach team is in need of lotion, deodorant, hair brushes, hair ties, body wash/bars of soap, and washcloths.

    • Huckleberry House will take it from there to deliver your donations to young people in your community experiencing HOMELESSNESS. By providing these essential items, you’re not just offering support—you’re laying the bricks and mortar of hope, opportunity, and resilience.
  1. Schedule a “Wear Green” Day at your work or a community gathering
    • Be sure to snap a picture and share it on your socials, tagging us (@HuckHouse) and using #youthHOPEmonth
  2. Light up your home or office green throughout all of November
    • When you’re asked “Why Green?”  share your “why” for participating, then send them to @HuckHouse on socials to learn more!
  3. Invite Huckleberry House to your office or community for a Lunch & Learn
    • It’ll serve as the building blocks, educating your peers on the truths of youth homelessness in central Ohio.

Only together can we build a life of independence for these young people. Each hygiene bag, educational session, and green light or shirt serves as a tool reinforcing HOPE.

Want to be a part of the movement, but November seems to come and go in a flash? You can always support us through a financial donation by visiting our website here. For more information, ways to participate, or to schedule activities with Huckleberry House, contact Carol Argiro at 614.298.4319 or cargiro@huck-house.org.

Together, we can make a lasting impact!
