Every house needs some upkeep. For our Crisis Shelter, that can be a bit of an understatement. We have been fortunate enough to partner with Homestead Companies to give the shelter a much needed facelift. Homestead Companies is a national full-service real estate development firm based in Columbus.
Dave Anderson, President & Founder of Homestead Companies, recognized the value that Homestead’s team could provide by being skilled volunteers. By donating their team’s time to us, they were able to use their skills to have a huge impact on an organization that had such a great need for those services. In coordination with Homestead, teams from Sherwin Williams also volunteered their time and talents to us.
Homestead very generously donated their time, money, talent, and resources to provide all new vinyl flooring and paint to the main floor of the shelter, as well as installing new kitchen cabinets, a countertop, and backsplash. Their team revitalized the outside of our facilities with power washing, fresh landscaping, and exterior paint. In addition to all of that, they installed an second laundry room in the shelter. Their generosity is valued at over $40,000, making this one of the largest donations that Huckleberry House has ever received.
