Building a Foundation, Together

A foundation is more than bricks and mortar. It represents stability and endurance. A foundation is strong.

A foundation is resilient.

At Huckleberry House, we assist young people, between the ages of 12 & 24, build a foundation of hope, stability, and support so that they are equipped with the tools they need to thrive and live an independent life.

Mary came to the Teen Crisis Shelter due to significant family conflict. Her family had filed unruly charges against her; Mary demonstrated limited motivation to work on improving the relationship with her family; Mary was not exceling in school, and was not future focused.

Over the course of four days in the shelter, Mary engaged in 1:1 and group sessions with a counselor and agreed to participate in outpatient support services. She exited the Teen Crisis Shelter program with Crisis Case Management services for support, and subsequently agreed to try counseling. Over a seven month period, Mary has improved her relationship with her family and the unruly case was positively closed. Today, she is learning to drive, has completed summer school, is exploring college options, and, is working toward increasing her GPA so she has an increased chance of admission.

Working with the Teen Crisis Shelter staff, her counselor, and her case manager, Mary got to work building a foundation for her future. This is what Huckleberry House does every day, for every young person we serve at the Teen Crisis Shelter, in our Housing programs, through our Counseling Services, and in our Outreach program.

The support you provide Huckleberry House each year is also foundational, ensuring we have the resources we need to provide these important human services. Together, we’re not just helping young people survive; we’re helping them build a foundation for a better future.

Please consider strengthening our foundation by making a generous, one-time, or recurring gift to Huckleberry House today. Your support is the cornerstone of everything we do and your contribution will directly impact the lives of the youth we serve, helping them to build a foundation and a future filled with promise.
