Huck House Youth Award Winner Cecil Bob-Grey
Cecil entered Huck House’s Transitional Living Program (TLP) after staying with various family members due to unstable housing. He was a senior in high school but his doubt, depression, anxiety and lack of stable housing made it difficult to focus on school. During his time in TLP, Cecil worked hard to improve himself.
Not only did Cecil successfully complete TLP in 18 months, but he also graduated from high school, enrolled at Columbus State, and has held full-time employment for nearly a year now. Cecil has saved almost $2,000, while maintaining rent payments. He also recently moved into fair market housing. Cecil is a great example of a youth who needed TLP, worked through the program and created a path towards his desired future which includes making screenplays and films and being a writer.
